Last January 29, my friend Anthony together with his wife Lovely-who are also working here in KSA and friends from Bacolod climbed at Mount Kanlaon. We had planned so many times that when they climb that mountain I will go with them. Unfortunately my scheduled flight was January 24 so during that time I was already here. Hopefully next time I can join them. I miss the exquisiteness of the nature.
Some information about Mt. Kanlaon and pictures of my friends.
Kan-Laon is the name of an ancient Visayan God. During pre-Hispanic times, the natives worshiped him as their Supreme Ruler. Kan-Laon means “He Who Is King Of Time”.
Mt. Canlaon, located on the island of Negros is home to the highest peak in the province, which is 2,465 meters above sea level at its highest point, and the highest mountain in the Visayas region. The mountain is said to be where Laon made his presence to the people.
In ancient times, native priests (babaylan) would climb up the mountain and do rituals every good harvest season or when there is a special ceremony. They would also offer gifts as a sign of respect. Canlaon City now stands beside the mountain.
Negros is an island of the Philippines located in the Visayas. It is the 4th largest island in the country, with a land area of 12,706 square km (4,905 square mi.). People on the island are called Negrense. The word Negros can also be a plural of Negro.

wow! ganda ng pics nila foggy sa toktok mukhang freezing ah!
tanong ko lang pagdating sa taas, may resto ba? halimbawa gusto mo ng kape o kaya mag deposito sa toilet? kung di ako pinadpad dito sa europa di ko rin masubukan ang mountain climbing pero naka cable car ha, hehehe..pag dating kasi sa toktok pede kang mag stay ng one week kumpleto eh.
pag wala pang resto sa tuktok ng kanlaon, corporation business tayo, lols.

sayang pla at di ka nakasama sa mountain climbing, di bale mr ryan cayabyab me next project naman kayo ni master hehehe daming bumili ng cd nyo eh kaya lang nalugi ako sa pagbayad kay serena willams, pinagamot yung ear drums nya nyeyeyeyheheh

above clouds din pala sa mt kanlaon, di pa ako nakapunta doon, sana kapag bumalik ka dito sa pinas, akyat tayo, hehe

climber ka? yan at apo ang di ko pa na-akyat bago ako mag-retire sa climbing. di pumayag si mader dear dahil sa mga sad stories na nabasa nya regarding kanlaon.
Anthony at Lovely? IT ba si Anthony at nurse si Lovely? baka common friend natin. Ano family name nila… hehehe.

ure into mountain climbing pala.. as much as i want to climb, i know i cant do it, i am not physically fit for that kind of adventure.. ung ibang guy friends ko noon p ko inaaya sa pinas pro hndi ko tlga kaya.. kng pwde sana may magbuhat n lng skn paakyat hehe

@ethel, wala resto dun. lugi tayo pag nag-negosyo kasi di naman lagi may umaakyat eh. dala na lang ng baon. malawak ang toilet dun hehehe…iba talaga dyan cable car na… pero mas maganda pa rin lakad lang.. test of patience en endurance.
@KD, baka wala ng bumili ng kanta namin nakakasira pala ng eardrums eh waaaaahh
@sirena, galing talaga yan si faffi KD kaya enjoy kasama.
@cruise, yup… sige pag me time ako pag-uwi akyat tayo…sana sabay kami magbakasyon ng tropa kong taga bacolod.
